I was elected as Giimaa of Sagamok Anishnawbek in October 2005 and served until August 2018. It was a tremendous honour to serve the community for approximately thirteen (13) years as Chief and I am enthusiastic about working for you as a member of Council and seeing what we can accomplish working together for the next four (4) years. During my tenure as Chief, I provided leadership in completing three (3) Impact and Benefit Agreements (IBA’s) with Vale Canada Limited, KGHM International, and Ursa Major Minerals. In my current role as President of Z’gamok Enterprises Inc., I will continue to provide leadership inbuilding successful community-owned businesses and advice regarding resource development projects within Sagamok’s traditional territory.

Paul and his wife Vera have been married for 35 years and have four (4) adult children and four (4) grandchildren, all girls. Paul is passionate about continuing the annual Fall Harvest and preserving our language. He is also passionate about the construction of a healing lodge, continuing to grow community-owned businesses, and expand Sagamok’s sources of revenues.
