Aanii Kina Wiiya, Veronica Nashkawa ndizhnikaaz. I am a proud member of Sagamok Anishnawbek, and I'm honoured to be elected to council for the 2024-2028 term.  

I am a mother to two beautiful young ladies, Lexi and Jaycee and partner to George. We reside in Sudbury, ON and have been living in the Sudbury area for the past 10 years. I work for Mamaweswen, The North Shore Tribal Council under the Niigaaniin Program as a Mino Bimaadizidaa Facilitator. 

I graduated from Cambrian College in 2003 from the Native Child and Family Worker program, after which I was employed by Sagamok Anishnawbek as the Youth Worker and then the Niigaaniin Youth Employment Case Worker. In both positions, I had the privilege of working with many young community members by providing guidance and support to assist with setting and achieving educational, employment and life goals. 

I look forward to serving our community in the best ways that I can in my new role as a Councillor for Sagamok Anishnawbek.
