2024 Committee Member Recruitment

Sagamok Anishnawbek has received a number inquiries following the previous deadline for committee applications to re-open recruitment due to insufficient time to apply. While the standard posting period for all Sagamok related positions (employment and committees) is weeks, and this period was met in our committee recruitment, we acknowledge the concerns and Council has agreed to re-post for committee member applications. Please note, those who originally applied will be contacted by the department overseeing the committee during these two weeks to acknowledge and discuss your application. Therefore those who already applied, need not re-apply during this re-posting period, and your application will be reviewed first. Sagamok Anishnawbek Council has established the following Committees:

1. Planning & Sustainable Development Committee
2. Laws, Justice, Nation Building & Treaties Committee
3. Child & Family Wellbeing Committee
4. Integrated Primary Health Committee
5. Mental Health and Addictions Committee
6. In-Home and Community Care Committee
7. Recreation and Cultural Services Committee
8. Education Committee
9. Language Committee
10. Elder’s Eagle Lodge Committee

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A COMMITTEE MEMBER

The following is a list of the requirements of potential committee members of Sagamok Anishnawbek:

1. Able to work in a group setting as part of a team.
2. Demonstrate, through application, prior knowledge of specified committee issues.
3. Demonstrate, through application, relevant background/experience in the area of the committee mandate.
4. Must be a registered member of the Sagamok Anishnawbek.
5. Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the appointment.
6. Youth representatives and Elder representatives are encouraged to apply.
7. If required, a CPIC must be provided prior to being selected for a committee.
