LaCloche Claim Update
A month ago, an overview was provided regarding the overview of the claim; the LaCloche claim was excluded, and breaches by the Crown are the reason for the exclusion. Ontario has no admitted liability, breach of fiduciary duty, and failing to provide reserve lands among other things. Admission of a survey error, which resulted in the exclusion of 7% of lands that should have been in the reserve claim. In order to make it right, they are returning the LaCloche tract in its entirety to make up for past abuses. NT – what is the reason for Canada not coming to the negotiations table? Canada declined in 2010 to negotiate this claim, and had no obligation under law to set aside reserve land, and were able to do as they pleased. Claim is ready to be filed this month provided that a BCR requesting it is made.

LNHL
Need to identify teams before December 31st, 2022 Registration deadline, and provide a budget amount to allow them to plan their itinerary; previous years had an amount of $5000.00, that amount may be higher now, approximately $7500.00. This amount should ideally cover the registration fee and the cost of accommodations per team. There may also be additional costs that Angus is willing to sponsor, on a first come, first serve basis as part of his candidacy promises.
Adrienne Eshkakogan is also prepared to assist teams in submitting Dreamcatcher applications to help offset the costs required to participate.
