Consent Agenda Items

Correspondence: Onita’s issue with the timing of a bingo called may relate to poor internet quality resulting in a delay in what is shown on the stream. Holly Bennett can view the game played, determine the timing of the first call of Bingo relative to the numbers call, and respond to Onita with the findings.

Second, Terry McNichol submitted correspondence regarding security. Ron of Wiky has a security company called CanCom. The response is that the matter can be brought forward to Senior Management prior to coming to Council. Seeking suggestions for dates to meet with Nogdawindamin, possibly sometime in April.


Housing Working Group Update

Arnelda had circulated a BN outlining the current findings of the HWG, and has 5 recommendations to put forward for Council consideration.

Health and Wellness Working Group Update

Renamed the group to the Health and Wellness Working Group to achieve a greater amount of inclusivity. Reviewed all documents from previous incarnations of the working group and pulled the priorities set by the previous iteration. Looked at the knowledge and skills of staff and their available capacities, and worked to identify both existing and new sources of funding. Lastly, reviewed the Terms of Reference, worked on the Strategic Plan, and aligned the HWWG with operational plans.

Sagamok Chief & Council motion to support the recommendation of the Interim Education Director to develop a strengths-based, choice driven, and culturally rooted leave program for Biidaaban Kinoomaagegamik teaching staff.

2023-24 Work Departmental Work Plan Overview

Will be approving the presented work plans as part of an omnibus motion to approve the work plans in principle, as there is a need to have them approved before the end of the fiscal year. The motion to accept in principle will allow for us to maintain compliance while still allowing for any needed adjustments ahead of the April 4th Chief & Council meeting.
