New Youth Wellness Hub coming to Sagamok Anishnawbek

January 9, 2024

The Honourable Michael Tibollo,  Associate Minister for Mental Health and Addictions endured the treacherous Northern weather to announce in person the expansion of the network of Ontario’s Youth Wellness Hubs.  Sagamok Anishnawbek will now be one of the “24 in 24” First Nations Communities to hold a Youth Wellness Hub within our Community.

These Hubs provide youth a convenient mental health, primary care and traditional healing and wellness service in a safe, youth-friendly and welcoming space.

The new Hub will replace the current temporary building and is being co-designed alongside our local youth, families, leaders and partners.

This shows that our government is continuing to take action to improve mental health services for our First Nation Communities across Ontario, while providing support to patients and families who are living with mental health and addiction challenges.
