Hydro Update will be Provided Tomorrow

A submerged cable has been damaged, and crews cannot safely work on it during the night. A crew is standing by to work on it first thing tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, please consider the following tips from Hydro One:

1. Make sure your appliances, such as the stove, are in the off position.

2. Try to conserve power on your cellphone by putting in airplane mode or turning off when not needed.  

3. Keep your refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible. Use a cooler with ice for items you’ll need during the outage.

4. If your water services will be affected, consider filling jugs of water to use for drinking and cooking.

5. If you plan to use a generator, remember to use it in a dry area outdoors away from any open windows, doors and vents. Visit the Electrical Safety Authority at esasafe.com for more tips.

6. If your water services are not currently effected but there is a chance they will be affected and you have a bathtub, consider filling it with water. You can use the water and a bucket to fill your toilet tank to be able to flush.
