The week of June 8th to 12th 2026 the circle supporting the work on the former Spanish IRS site invites impacted members of the Spanish Indian Residential School community, Survivors, families, and allies to attend the Bringing Home Our Children Together Drop-In Space from June 8-12, 2026.
Throughout the week ITE search specialists brought in through a Truth and Reconciliation partnership with the Jesuits of Canada, will conduct groundwork related to known burials at Mount Calvary Cemetery and will be available to answer questions. Sacred fire, wellness supports, and nutrition supports will be available daily.
The public drop-In space will be open dally from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM EST at the Spanish Municipal Marina, 40 Garnier Rd, Spanish, ON. This gathering offers a safe and welcoming space for Truth telling, learning, reflection, healing, and ongoing commemoration planning connected to the former Spanish Indian Residential Schools.
There will be no formal agenda to support accessibility and community needs.
