ℹ️ What Is the Community Safety Plan?
- A comprehensive strategy to improve community safety, health, and well-being.
- An aim to build sustainable communities where residents feel safe and have access to needed services.
- A focus on proactively identifying issues and finding solutions, addressing local and systemic issues, and ensuring all community members are aware of available services and can access them easily.
- Promotes for areas of planning response: Social Development, Risk Prevention, Risk Intervention, and Incident Response.
Sagamok has a core group of leadership, administrative staff, and community members who are in the preliminary stages of planning. The core group will undertake the bulk of the work, but what is more important will be input from all sectors of the community — elders, adults, youth, service providers, and local businesses.
Keep watch for future community engagement sessions where we will be seeking input from all community members.
