Damaged or Stolen Safety Equipment

The security cameras and the speed monitoring devices that Sagamok installed are for the safety and protection of all community members. They are placed in different parts of the community for crime prevention, deterrence, and detection.

Over the past six months, one camera was stolen from the skateboard park area, and two cameras were damaged and then stolen from the New Subdivision Road area. The speed monitoring device on Sagamok Road near the Catholic church has been damaged and parts stolen; wires cut and solar panel stolen (most recently).  This equipment does not have a security camera inside, its only function is to monitor speed in hopes people will slow down while travelling through the community.

The cost to replace the damaged or stolen equipment is not significant but it’s a cost Sagamok must pay to maintain the safety and security of all community members.

All the incidents have been reported to APS. If anyone has information on these crimes, please report to APS at 1-888-310-1122 or call Crimestoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
