UPDATE — July 28, 2026
The Fire Ban for Sagamok Anishnawbek has been lifted, effective immediately.
We would like to thank all community members for your cooperation and understanding during the fire ban. Your efforts helped reduce the risk of wildfires and protected our community, our firefighters, and our natural environment.
As conditions can change quickly, we ask everyone to continue practicing safe burning habits:
🔥 Never leave a fire unattended.🔥 Keep fires small and under control.🔥 Have a water source or shovel readily available.🔥 Ensure your fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area.🔥 Burn only clean, dry wood—never burn garbage or prohibited materials.🔥 Do not burn during windy conditions.
Please remember that fire safety is everyone’s responsibility. By working together, we can continue to keep Sagamok Anishnawbek safe.
Should conditions worsen, the Fire Department will continue to monitor the fire hazard rating and provide updates as necessary.
Stay safe and enjoy the remainder of the summer responsibly. Sagamok Fire Department
