Effective Immediately
Due to the current EXTREME HIGH FIRE RISK, a Fire Ban is now in effect for the community of Sagamok Anishnawbek until further notice.
No open burning is permitted, including:
- Campfires
- Brush or debris burning
- Burn barrels
- Fireworks or any other open flame that could ignite surrounding vegetation
Please note:
- No fire permits will be issued while the Fire Ban is in effect.
- All existing fire permits are hereby void and are suspended until the Fire Ban has been lifted.
Current conditions create a significant risk of wildfire. Even a small spark can quickly spread and threaten our community, lands, wildlife, and emergency responders.

- Properly dispose of cigarette butts in approved containers.
