Hydro One is installing new technology as one of the first steps to prepare for growing electricity needs in the Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation area. This is being done to reduce outages and restore power faster to homes, businesses and communities. Hydro One is planning to complete work on Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation reserve land and the surrounding area. There is no cost for this upgrade work for the Band or customers.
This will include pole inspection and electrical equipment installation work as follows:
- Pole inspection work including 6 poles on Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation reserve land & surrounding area will start late-October 2025.
- Upgraded electricity equipment infrastructure will be installed in the surrounding area later in Summer 2026.
