Sagamok youth from Biidaaban (Grade 8) and Espanola High School will be engaging in the Igniting Youth Conference. EHS students will be picked up along their usual bus route. Bus run will start at 9am!

  • Grades 8, 9, 10 - Elders' Teachings at the Life-Long Learning Centre
  • Grades 11, 12 - Headdress Ceremony and Eagle Staff Teachings at the Multi-Educational Centre

LUNCH (PROVIDED): 12:00PM-1:00PM

AFTERNOON: 1:00PM-4:00PM

  • Keynote Speaker - Jonathan Boyer Nolan
  • Roundtable conversations with professionals from Human Resources, Finance, and the Espanola Paper Kings
  • Information on summer jobs, ISET program, school funding, post-secondary supports, and more! Parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend at 3pm.
  • Cafe, snacks, and supper provided.
  • Swag Bags for all youth who attend!

About the Speaker

Jonathan Boyer-Nolan is a proud Anishnaabe from Mississaugi FN, with strong family ties in Ketegaunseebee (GRFN). Currently raising his beautiful family in the Bawaating area, Jonathan is deeply rooted in his community and culture. A passionate advocate for Indigenous Education and wholistic wellness, he is committed to being a guiding light for others on their personal & professional journeys. Jonathan actively serves on various Boards of Directors, where he works to enhance community services and support initiatives that promote overall wellbeing. His dedication to his family, culture, and community drives his ongoing efforts to inspire and uplift those around him.
